SAAFE House offers
a variety of services in Walker, Polk, San Jacinto and Trinity counties. All services are free
and confidential and are offered without regard to sex, race, color, sexual
orientation or religion.
24-Hour Crisis Line
The crisis line is available for immediate assistance 24-hours-a-day. Trained
staff and volunteers answer calls and discuss options, offer support and
suggestions for possible solutions.

Advocacy
SAAFE House provides individual and group advocacy for adult and child
victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Shelter
The shelter offers immediate safety to victims of domestic violence and
their children. Food and clothing are provided as needed to the shelter
clients.
Rape Crisis Intervention
SAAFE House staff and volunteers accompany rape victims to the hospital
and through legal and medical procedures. Advocacy is also available for
victims of sexual assault.
Children's Programs
Age appropriate advocacy and information is available through the children's
programs.
Violence Intervention Program
The Violence Intervention Program (VIP) is a community-wide program offering
counseling to men who have been abusive to their partners and/or children.
The goals of VIP include teaching participants to take responsibility for
their own violent behavior and to learn how to participate in respectful,
mutually satisfying relationships with others.
Legal Advocacy
We provide assistance with protective orders, help with filing Victims
Compensation, and accompaniment to file charges and/or to court hearings.
Education
SAAFE House conducts a variety of workshops for clients and the community.
Our education program includes parenting and informational classes. We provide community education to businesses, schools, and organizations. To have someone from SAAFE House come speak to your organization, please email us.
